Voice Channelling |
Meditation for voice channelling is the same as other meditations except that we do it with the intention of contacting a guide to come through us. Whether it is attempted in a group or with a partner, the format is the same. Sometimes there may not be a specific intention but if there are things to be said and an instrument is available and ready then the guide will come through.
The decision to voice channel is involuntary, we may have an inkling when it is going to happen, but all we can do is provide the best possible conditions for it. A very good piece of advice is to always ask for the highest possible energy or guide, it may seem obvious but channels and energy centres attract lower as well as higher entities. There are no hard and fast rules, if it is going to happen it may be apparent as soon as you sit down in circle or it may come up and catch you unawares at the end of a guided meditation. Indications of an impending channel are the feeling of merging with a guide or being pulled through a ceiling or perhaps stepping out of your skin, any visualisation that involves getting over a fear or altering dimensions. Physically our bodies may experience adrenaline rushes with our heart speeding up and the mouth drying. These are all very powerful signs. The visualisation of altering states can also be used as a technique to induce the deep meditation that is required to voice channel. Having said that if the guides do not want to come through at that time, preferring to use another method or instrument to get the message across it cannot be forced.
You generally get a feeling that is very hard to describe before you channel. The hardest one is of fear or apprehension, because you have wanted to channel does not mean that it will be not throw up some odd emotions, after all you are inviting someone else to take over a part of you body. The spirit may be willing to do this but the ego can have other ideas. Once the technique has been learned from experience, subsequent channels are easier, but they will become more powerful which can cause other problems that I will come to. I experienced fear and blind panic before my maiden channel. My heart raced, the pressure increased around me, and butterflies rose from my stomach into my mouth. I asked for help from my guide who said plainly "Youve been waiting and training for this, you are safe, just relax into me, we will do all the work".
I tried to do as I was told to, but still I resisted somewhere, my body no longer seemed to be mine. The biggest confirmation that you are going to channel is the helplessness you feel. It is inevitable nothing can stop it. On a level within you have agreed to perform, nothing is ever done without consent, but never is it the way we imagined. Of cause if we want to pull out we can but if we have had the intention then we dont. The fear and panic is the resistance we put up because our spirit is being asked to relinquish control of a portion of our bodies. We are quite attached to them and so we need to get over our irrational fear. Get over the initial fear and we are over the cliff and far from falling we climb to safety. In this state our awareness is hypersensitive, any sudden movement from ourselves or others around us can de detrimental. Not only to the channel but also to our bodies physically that is why the atmosphere and conditions must be absolutely right. With discipline being executed by the group as well as the instrument. Being jolted from a trance is like suddenly being woken from a deep sleep. It goes without saying that it should not be attempted nor will it be allowed by spirit if at least one person in the group is experienced in these matters to ensure safety and to take control if anything is going wrong.
Obviously you and the person leading the group will know that you have someone with you who would like to say a few words. I say a few words in jest because once a guide has the use of you he or she will use you for as long as they can. What may seem a simply answer or idea will be expounded on as much as possible. The reason for this is that it is important to understand the tiniest of details and they re-iterate ideas in different forms to get their point across.
When you are invited to speak it is advisable to take a few minutes to re-affirm the connection with the guide and make sure you are both happy. To begin the message our throats need to be activated so that they can be used. If you open your mouth and say anything spirit will then take over. During the meditation prior to channelling very often a word will be given to you. It can be any word. As soon as a trance state has been reached that word can be the trigger, saying it reveals all. Once the vocal chords are activated and the message starts the body calms down and peace reigns in our consciousness.
At any time during the process we do have total control of whether we want to stop the channel for any reason what so ever. Again neither guide nor instrument wants to waste energy or damage any progress made. Once a connection is made guides love to use it for as long as they possibly can, stressing this that and the other as I have explained, so our energy flow which can be directly connected to our spiritual and physical fitness needs to be good. If the energy is getting weak or you are getting tired the ability to intermediate lessens and is a good reason to pull out. This loss of energy usually comes at the end of a session and is also a good indication that what needed to be said has been.
After the signature (a salutation or words of love peace and well being) the energy decreases slowly. Sometimes the voice just fades or stops, what follows is the same whichever the case. Here we come back into total control of our beings. Take as long as you like to slowly come out of trance perhaps consciously severing ties with the guide you have been working with. Just like divers coming up too quickly from the depths of the sea we can experience the bends. So if you still feel connected pause in the coming down processes and collect yourself together. This phrase is more literal than poetic, we are in essence re-grouping and putting things in order. Do not underestimate the power of the energy that you are using. It may seem that the experience was easy to go through but you are dealing with entities outside the normal knowledge of most people, it is not a game. Coming out of a trance has to be done carefully, gently and very slowly never rush it. I can not stress too much the importance of this. In a trance we maw feel that there is not any more energy around us than normal, that is because we cannot feel the difference, we are saturated in it. Coming out of it quickly can be like jumping into a hot bath from a cold one we get burnt. It can have undesirable side effects like dizziness, emotional imbalance, physical shaking and loss of temperature. The body can go into shock which means that only vital organs are sent blood to survive all external organs are shut down. I do not wish to be alarmist but I am only pointing these things out in the hope that they can be prevented. Of cause these are extreme cases and your experience may be a lot easier, but the first time you voice channel it is better to take precautions so do everything slowly. Having spent a lot of effort developing a channel we do not want to damage more growth because of a bad experience.
Our next task is to make a strong connection with the earth to ground. Imagine roots spreading down from you feet and feel the beautiful grounding energies emanate from the core of our planet. It is better to move slowly stretching the muscles in your hands, arms, feet and legs before making any major movements. Sudden movements do not let the body wake up naturally. The connection with spirit has to be broken slowly so it is a good opportunity to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the meditation rather than worrying too much about what others in the circle are doing. If the connection proves hard to break, visualising cutting the ties with scissors is a good way of doing it but only when you have come completely out of the trance state. Water, being earth energy is good to drink after a channel, not only does it help us to ground but also lubricates our vocal cords. Finally, protection of some description is a good idea, we dont want to walk out into wide world being totally open to all and sundry, and this also helps in the grounding process. The person leading the group will be aware of your state and will act accordingly. Until they are satisfied that you are OK the discussion of what others have received will not continue. They will be able to give you help and advice if you need it.
When we are being used as a vocal channel the words being said pass through us and because we have not generated solely on our own, our memory of them is not always very good. They are remembered instantly they are said and then float away into the mist. Obviously those in the circle can better remember what had transpired, but as with automatic writing the lack of punctuation and odd way of breaking seemingly natural sentences up can be important in conveying specific messages not immediately apparent. This is where the tape recorder comes into play
My first channel was a little mixed up and I made no sense of it for ages. As time went on snippets came back to me, but the thing I remember most was the vision of bringing light into darkness which was a wonderful affirmation that the channel had been of the highest possible for me at that time and that I was doing the right thing.
All the earning and learning applies to channelling as well as to the rest of our spiritual and physical lives, they are inextricably linked as we strive to be one with ourselves our community and our universe. We learn about structures and our own reality of what is going on in spirit, all I can say on this is that it is part of our own truth and experience and belief and belief is our validation of our spiritual life.
Having channelled several times our sensitivity makes us aware of distinctive vibrations and feelings when different guides come through. Some we are able to work with well and others seem to be harder to get on with. This is quite natural because our vibration and the vibration of the guide must compliment each other to work successfully; there are as many different guides as there are different people on this planet. A process of natural selection will go on as we become more experienced. Some instruments seem to channel only one or two guides others will channel a different energy each time, there are no set rules. As long as we are providing the right atmosphere for voice channelling and it is part of our path experience will grow with practice.
Getting to know the particular guide you work with is important too. A relationship needs to flourish so that we have direct communication with him or her. At times the eagerness of a guide to come through may not be appropriate, so we have to be able to ask them to step back until the time is right. There is nothing more exhausting than fighting to stay in control. There is no problem in this, a guide will step back when asked but we have to be firm so that a mutual respect exists between us. They do forget sometimes that we are only human.
With spiritual development our connection to other dimensions grows accordingly, we have no control over this, we cannot decide to be well connected just because we think we should be, it is given to us as a direct reflection of our hard work and the work of spirit. At some point it is possible for our connection to go straight to the source, not needing the services of a guide to be part of a chain if you like. These channels when they happen are very strong indeed and there is a distinct difference between this type of channel and a guided one. No longer do we translate information the information flows directly through us from a much higher source. Again this only happens when we are ready, but you will know when it has happened. Guides are always presents to watch what is going on and to provide some security. Your personal guide will act as a link for other guides to channel through you, that is why a good relationship with one guide is useful. Because guides develop in the same way we do some guides are extremely high and have got there due to work knowledge and age so it is possible to feel the higher energies as a guide progresses or changes.
The words or message that is channelled can come from many different guides and perceived energies or entities, but we as the instrument have to take responsibility for the information given. I am not saying or suggesting what you should do with the information given only how to start obtaining it, you have the choice of how, when or if to act on it. We cannot disassociate ourselves with the source or content. To do this could allow us to opt out of any consequences of the information given, irresponsibility and misuse of power is frowned upon and results in us being taken down a peg or two sometimes quite dramatically. Responsibility also gives us a good reason to validate that the highest possible guides are using us. The ball is firmly in our court. If in doubt pull out, we are working for the highest possible reasons, as a guide once told me "We are not a side-show, neither are you, so dont act like one". The telling off was swift and to the point, there is a serious job to be done. No point in complicating matters.
It may be desirable to have a name or perhaps work with a recognised guide or collection of guides but it is not that important. First and foremost we want to develop our channelling capabilities and not to channel a particular guide. It may be that we do strike up a relationship with our guide to help us grow and that guide may be part of a collection of guides that is well known but we cannot force these things to happen. Many guides for many different reasons will use you; very often we do not have a choice. All that we can do is work on providing the purest channel that we can and to understand how to work and deal with the energies we come into contact with.
I have had a relationship with one guide for many years, even though sometimes I ignored her. She changed and I used other guides but it was always stressed that if for some reason the relationship was not working then it would be dissolved. Trying out different guides and energies gives us a chance to eliminate any miss-matches early on. There is no point in spending time and effort building a relationship only to find that the two are not compatible at a latter date. Either the guide or you can decide to opt out if it is not going to work, it is not a one-sided affair. Very often I have used a guide just once either because we were not suited or they just had a few things to say to the group or me on one particular occasion.
Global awareness is a theme that runs through many messages, whether channelled directly through automatic writing or visualisations, how we interpret this universal message and what we do with it is up to the individual. Some are moved to share it and others use it as part of their individual growth. It has to be said that we are generally guided in the right direction. Responsibility of actions comes in here. We must be aware that what we consider a common experience and a beautiful gift some regard as damnation, so certain issues have to been handled with tact and love. Going headlong into a speech about how we are all messing up our planet and if we dont do something fast it will self destruct may not have the desired effect, however genuine the content and intention. The media love to get hold of eccentrics to poke fun at and ridicule, so knowledge and responsibility of action is a large consideration. What may seem a prediction effecting the world at large that needs to be broadcast to the millions may be a chance to verify our abilities and nothing more. Guides are aware of the precarious situations we can find ourselves in it is not in their interest to stir up unwanted hornets nests, so listening, questioning and verifying become worthy tools
It is often asked or at least pondered on, why some instruments voice channel and others dont? After all we are all channels so why cant we choose our medium? There is never a direct and straightforward answer to this question. The closest Ive ever got to the answer is "If it is your path then you will be given the mechanics to do it".
Some people do not voice channel in a trance but work in a very similar way while giving the message they have received from spirit. During the meditation a key word or vision is given for each message that is to be given. When it is time to give the message the recollection of the key prompts the guide to give the inspiration directly to the person using words or pictures. If the message is not clear then asking the guide or helper for more clarity will hopefully result in another, clearer indication of what the intended message is. While this is happening the energy usually changes in the room and the person goes into a semi-trance.
